System configuration.

In this step, you’ll need to make important decisions about the hardware required for your RGBW IC LED installation. There are multiple options for achieving the desired lighting effect, and while they may look similar from a distance, their functionalities can vary greatly. Here are some key points to consider before proceeding:

  1. Voltage: The voltage of the LED lights you choose will impact their brightness and efficiency. Options usually range from 12V to 48V.
  2. Number of Holes in the Walls: Depending on the installation method, you may need to drill holes in your walls or soffits. Consider how comfortable you are with this aspect or if you prefer a non-invasive method.
  3. Way of Installation: There are different methods to install your lights, such as clipping them onto the soffits or screwing them into the walls. Exposed wiring or enclosed boxes. Each has its pros and cons.
  4. Way of Fastening: The lights can be fastened using screws, clips, or adhesive methods. Choose the one that best fits your comfort level and the material of your home’s exterior. Not a really critical solution, just keep in mind that some cheaper sets come with double tape only. Would it keep in 30 Celcius under zero?
  5. Which Controller: The type of controller you choose will determine how you can interact with your lights, be it through a mobile app, remote control, or built-in switches. Almost any controller on the market today has some tech problems. Some problems are minor, some are really annoying.
  6. Parallel or Consecutive Wiring: Decide whether you want to wire your lights in parallel, where each light receives power independently, or in series, where the power flows from one light to the next. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages.
